Rental Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proof of ID (RSA ID or Passport)
  • Most recent bank statements.
  • Proof of address if the address on the bank statement is not residential.
  • Written consent is required to do criminal and credit checks.
  • Payment of all rental fees.

All communication between LoadTheRoad (Pty) will be in writing via email or sms or WhatsApp to the contact details above.

  • The minimum rental period is 7 days.
  • A single individual may not rent more than one vehicle.
  • Vehicles are not issued with fuel.
  • On collection of the Rental Vehicle in terms of this agreement, the renter and LoadTheRoad (Pty) Ltd will jointly inspect the Rental Vehicle to ascertain the existence of any defects or damage thereto.
  • On return of the Vehicle the renter, together with the LoadTheRoad (Pty) Ltd, will jointly (or if the renter is not available LoadTheRoad (Pty) Ltd alone) inspect the Rental Vehicle to ascertain the existence of any defects or damage thereto.
  • LoadTheRoad (Pty) Ltd or its duly authorized nominee are at any time allowed to inspect and/or enter the rental vehicle without hindrance or interference on the part of the renter.
  • All LoadTheRoad (Pty)Ltd renters will be subject to a credit and criminal background check.
  • All security checks are subject to the payment of a specified deposit and have a 24-hour turnaround time for response.
  • Renters are also required to grant LoadTheRoad(Pty)Ltd consent to check previous vehicle rental history with other institutions.
  • In the event of an accident or any damage to the rental vehicle, a renter is required to notify LoadTheRoad(Pty)Ltd immediately where possible. It is the renter’s responsibility to report the incident to the SAPS, obtain an accident report, and forward it to LoadTheRoad(Pty)Ltd.
  •  In the event of any damage to the rental vehicle, the renter will pay an excess within 7 days of notification of such excess. The excess payable will be the lower of the damage value or R6000.
  • An admin fee of R150 will be added to each fine or traffic violation received.
  •  Additional drivers are allowed at an additional once-off cost.
  • Sub-renting of LoadTheRoad (Pty)Ltd vehicles is strictly prohibited.
  • All rental payments are to be in advance by:  
  • Electronic Transfer or Direct cash deposit via an ATM or financial institution.
  •  A Rental vehicle will only be handed over once payment is reflected in the LoadTheRoad (Pty)Ltd bank account.  
  •  All damages and repairs less than the LoadTheRoad (Pty)Ltd insurance excess are billed to the renter’s account.
  • LoadTheRoad (Pty)Ltd is responsible for all maintenance on all rental vehicles.
  • No reimbursement will be made for any maintenance, modifications, repairs, or services costs incurred by the renter if not pre-approved by LoadTheRoad(Pty)Ltd beforehand.
  • Rental deposits are refunded 10-14 days after the return of the rental vehicle to offset damages and fines.
